RoboHelp 8 - Breadcrumbs

You can still insert breadcrumbs into all your topics as before using the options when generating your layout.

What has been added is an alternative method using placeholders. By inserting a placeholder for the breadcrumbs in the header or footer a master page and linking different topics to different master pages, you can have different positions for different topics. If you use this method, you will not want to use the option in the single source layout, unless you want two sets of breadcrumbs.
